Mary and Jerrod | Testarossa Winery Wedding | Los Gatos Wedding Photography

Mary and Jerrod had their late October 2019 wedding at the breathtaking historic Testarossa Winery tucked into the Santa Cruz Mountains in Los Gatos, CA. Testarossa Winery is a fantastic los gatos winery wedding venue that boasts breathtaking views, a beautiful garden patio, majestic redwood trees, a charming bridal cottage, and a truly captivating wine cave. Check out the amazing wine cave in the top photo in this post. Testarossa Winery proves that you don’t need to leave the Bay Area to have an amazing winery wedding. It truly is a hidden gem and that’s why we featured it in our Hidden Gem Bay Area Winery Wedding Venues post.

Mary and Jerrod are a super fun and joyous couple! You can see from the photos that there wasn’t a moment in the entire wedding day that wasn’t filled with smiles and laughter from the two of them and their entire wedding party. Even when the power went out during the dinner service, the smiles and fun continued. This Testarossa Winery wedding was truly a celebration from beginning to end. It was a wedding to remember for so many reasons.

The wedding day started off at the Campbell Double Tree Hotel with Mary having some fun girl time getting ready with her bridal party. All the ladies were having a blast doing some fun poses for the camera while they were finishing up their wedding hair and make-up. When hair and makeup was done at the hotel, they all headed over to Testarossa Winery to finish getting ready and take some more photos. The bridal suite at Testarossa winery is a darling stone cottage with beautiful candle lighting. Inside the suite was an elegant chaise lounge that was just perfect for photos.

Mary’s bridal party wore stunning dark red gowns in various styles and the flowers were a combination of white, pink, and crimson with some greenery mixed in. Mary wore a gorgeous spaghetti strap ballroom style wedding gown with a beaded bodice that was so flattering on her. For a fun accent piece, she wore a faded denim jean jacket that was bedazzled with the word bride on the back.

While the ladies were getting ready in the bridal suite, the men were relaxing and sharing some drinks in the groom’s suite. Jerrod and his groomsmen wore deep blue suits with dark red ties to match the bridesmaid dresses. The wedding colors were a perfect choice for a fall wedding.

When everyone was finished getting ready, it was time to head outside for our favorite part of the day…the first look!

Mary and Jerrod decided to do a first look before the ceremony. This was such a good idea for SO many reasons. First, it was a fun and exciting moment for the bride and groom to share together and get some awesome photos. Second, it was a great way to get the nerves out of the way before walking down the aisle in front of all of their guests. And lastly, since the wedding was in late October and sunset was around 6:00 p.m., having the first look before the ceremony allowed Mary and Jerrod to get all of their bridal party photos and couple portraits done while there was still natural light. To surprise Jerrod, Mary hid behind him in an outdoor hallway on the Testarossa Winery grounds while Jerrod stood with his back to her. Then, with all of the bridal party watching, she came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around, amazed and happy, and spun her around. They of course followed that up with a kiss!

After portraits were done, Mary and Jerrod had a few moments to themselves as guests arrived and took their seats. The ceremony started just as the sun had set, making for a very romantic night wedding ceremony on the wooden platform set against the majestic redwood trees of Testarossa Winery. The ceremony was followed by an outdoor cocktail hour. Before the guests entered the indoor reception through Testarossa’s captivating wine cave, we sneaked Mary and Jerrod into the cave for a few more photos.

The fun continued through the seated dinner and dancing. The Testarossa winery staff was so prepared and didn’t skip a beat that Caroline and Jordan and all the wedding guests barely even noticed when the power went out as dinner was being served.
